JACKS and KNOBS

Load / Save Button

Press the Save button to temporarily stop the audio and save the contents of the memory. If the "WRITE PROTECT" jumper on the back of the board is ON, you will not be able to save. Press the Load button to recall the contents of the memory. Pressing the Load button while holding down the TAP TEMPO button clears the contents of the memory.

Transport Switches

Transport related switches such as playback and recording. It is "ON" when it is up. From the left, DIR is the playback direction, LOOP (mode for setting a loop with the lower slider) on / off, recording on / off, playback on / off. However, REC ON is effective only when playback is ON.

Transport Jack

This input jack is used to control transport-related items such as playback and recording with the gate. The same as a switch can be done with an on / off gate signal.

Loop Position Section

The upper slider sets the loop start position, and the lower slider sets the loop end position. Both have CV control with Atte inverter. When playback reaches the end of the loop, the side LED lights up and a trigger is output from the output in the "Tap Tempo" section.

Input

Signal input and gain.

Feedback

Set the amount of feedback that returns the output to the input again. When not patched to the jack, the current output is fed back to the input and the amount is controlled by the knob. When patched to a jack, that signal is mixed into the input. By processing the output signal with another module and then patching this input, you can process the feedback sound.

Tempo

When the switch is turned on, the tap tempo mode is activated, the loop slider is disabled, and the playback time of the loop is determined by the tap timing. Instead of pressing the tap button, you can also determine the tap by turning on / off the gate signal to the input.

Output

There are two output jacks, the upper one outputs a Dry / Mix signal with a knob, and the lower one outputs a Wet signal. Either can be used for feedback.

Sampling Frequency Control

Knob to control sampling frequency and CV control (with Atte inverter). This also changes the sampling time. The frequency is up to 16kHz, at which time you can record and play samples for up to 4 seconds.

When you move the cursor over the screen, the role of each part is displayed in a popup.

MUSICAL FEATURES

Tyme Sefari is an audio buffer module designed for live sampling. By using various controls properlyOne-shot samplerAnddelayPseudo time stretcherCan be used for a wide range of applications Each transport such as loop and direction, recording and playback can be controlled by gate signal and switch. Sampling frequency is up to 16kHz (can be controlled by knob and CV), up to 16bit (Sound of ThunderCan be changed using). At the break in the sampleGlitchSound may be generated easily, which is also one of the design characteristics of this module.

Transport Control

Tyme Sefari allows you to perform transport-related operations for recording and playback using toggle switches and gate signals.

 Audio buffer transport

The playback / recording point on the audio buffer (where audio is stored) returns to the first position when it reaches the end of the buffer, and operates in a loop. When the PLAY switch or the corresponding gate signal is ON, the contents of the memory are sent to the output, and the playback position advances. In this mode, the yellow LED is lit. When the REC switch or gate is ON, new audio data is taken from the input and written to memory. The red LED is lit when in this mode. The DIR switch and jack indicate the direction of playback and recording, and can be changed in real time.

The SAMPLING FREQUENCY knob and CV control the playback and recording speed. Recording is not performed unless PLAY is turned on. PLAY is the master control for transport operation.

When the LOOP switch or gate is ON, the range of playback and recording on the buffer is limited. Use the START and END sliders to determine the recording and playback range. When START is after END, playback and recordingReverse directionIs done.TAP TEMPO toggle switchWhen ON is set, the START / END slider is disabled and the loop length is determined by the TAP TEMPO button and gate signal.

In any mode, when the end of the loop is reached, the orange LED beside the slider will illuminate and a trigger signal will be output from the TAP TEMPO OUTPUT jack.

The four transport controls can be controlled with a switch or gate signal, and the gate input isAudio rateBut it reacts.

how to use

One-shot sampler
This is a one-shot mode in which the sample is played by turning off the Play switch and applying a gate to the P gate input. When using in this way, it will automatically return to the starting point.
delay
Raise "FEEDBACK" and turn on the LOOP, PLAY, and REC switches (or turn on the gate signal). The position of the LOOP slider determines the length of the delay. If you hear unwanted glitches with the slider settings, use TAP TEMPO for more precise control over the loop position.
THRU-ZERO DRONE
Play a portion of the recording. Put the audio rate square wave into the D (ir) input. This produces a thick chorus-like drone sound. Adjust the Sampling Frequency to control the pitch of the tone. Also adjust the pitch of the square wave.
Pseudo time stretch
Turn on the loop and play part of the recording. Move the START slider to the left and the END slider very close so that a very short loop plays. Now enter a slowly falling LFO into the START and END CV inputs with the same amount of attenuation. Please adjust by changing the speed of LFO.
