MUSICAL FEATURES

Benjolin is a kaotic synthesizer module designed by Rob Hordijk, which also uses a circuit similar to the Blippoo Box by Rob Hordijk. Benjolin consists of two VCO, one state barrier filter, and a unique "Rungler" circuit. By combining these with each other, it is possible to create the movement of the sound which feels chaos from the change of the moment to the pattern of the sound which changes slowly.

Rungler is an 8-step shift register that uses oscillator A as signal input and oscillator-B as the clock. The output of the shift register is fed back to the pitch of oscillators A and B at varying speeds and range steppes (RUN-A and RUN-B become feedback attenuators).

The filter is equipped with a distortion similar to a unique vacuum tube, increases resonance, and the most prominent features are when the A and B oscillators are moving in the audio range. The filter is populated with a rectangular wave made through oscillators A and B to the comparator, and the Rungler output signal itself. As with oscillators A and B, filters can be easily modulated with rungler signals, and run F knobs become attenuators. Oscillator and filter frequency CV inputs make patching easier because the triangular waves of either oscillator are internally connected.

※ Since this module is not the primary purpose to produce a sound tailored to the scale, the trackable range of 1V/ Oct of the oscillator is about 1 octave
