E950 Circuit Bent VCO
Speech synthesisThis is a digital oscillator sound source module that performs mainly on. Officially licensed the original voices and algorithms of Texas Instruments' famous LPC speech synthesizer to provide voltage controllable speech synthesis.
The E950 also includes a wavetable with two banks of X16 waveforms selected from the E350, in addition to the speech mode.
VCO mode which is a simplified version of E350But can be used. Turn the SPEECH knob VCO A / B bank to VCO mode, and turn it to the right to bank in speech mode.
Texas Instruments' original LPC speech synth had a famous remodeling (circuit bending) method, but in the E950 it was in the normal state
Circuit bendYou can switch states and control it further. The circuit bend state of the E950 is stable and has reproducibility of sound unlike the case of actually remodeling.
VCO MODE
The VCO A / B bank of the SPEECH knob will be in VCO mode, and will operate as a wavetable oscillator using the waveform selected from the E350 (not an LFO). The waveform in the bank is controlled by the EFFECT knob and CV (with attenuator). The transition of the waveform is very smooth. The DIGITAL output outputs digital noise with pitch adjustment, as used in old video games.
Use the upper two knobs to adjust the pitch. The pitch can be controlled by CV from two jacks, 1V / Oct and FM / INDEX (with attenuator). The SYNC jack is an input for oscillator sync. When the input voltage exceeds 0.25V, the waveform is reset.
There are two waveform banks:
VCO A:Tri / Saw / Pulse / Square / Tri + Sine / Tri + Square / Saw + Square / FWR Sine / Sine / 2nd-8th harmonics
VCO B: Male and female vocal formants
SPEECH MODE
SPEECH knobs 1 to 9 are in speech mode. At this time, if a voltage exceeding 0.25V is input to the SYNC input by a gate signal or the like, word speech starts, and no sound is output until then. Triggering from SYNC before the pronunciation is over will give the word again from the beginning. The pronunciation word is controlled by the FM / INDEX knob and CV ((with attenuator, 1V / 6 word).
HerePlease refer to.
The PITCH knob and CV to 1V / Oct control the pitch. In speech mode, the 5V gate is output from the DIGITAL output during speech.
EFFECT control In the speech mode, you can smoothly switch between the normal state and the circuit bend state. This control is provided by the EFFECT knob and the EFFECT CV input with attenuator. The EFFECT control works in two ways. On the left side from 12:00, the playback speed is controlled in the normal state. The 10 o'clock position is at normal speed, slower to the left. After 12 o'clock, the EFFECT control approaches the state of simulating a circuit modification, and begins to misread words in the order in which they are spoken (the mistake is reproducible). Turning it clockwise slows playback. Not all words will have a musically interesting effect in the circuit bend state, but that is one of the features of this module.
