The E352 is a high quality digital oscillator based on a wavetable with various synthesis modes. Based on modes such as the E350 wavetable, E340 cloud mode, and E330 2-op FM, the functions have been expanded and a display has been added. Also, user waveforms can be used.
The following settings are available from the display
Setting: Change the following synthesis modes and make settings in various modes. For example, in the morphing mode, you can change the waveform bank (three types of table banks and three types of user banks can be used as with the E350), and adjust the smoothness (Glitch) when changing waveforms. Becomes
Waves: Displays the current waveform
Lissajous Waves: Displays a two-dimensional plot made from OUT1 and OUT2
Visual Displays: 2OP FM mode displays useful information for each mode, such as spectrum
Eye Candy: Displays small images that appear on screen savers, etc.
File: Used for loading user waveforms, etc.
Frequency-Quantize: Sets whether to quantize the pitch to the 12th scale
Colors: Change the color scheme of the screen
Patches: Saves, recalls, and resets settings such as the assignment of each parameter.
Mode Help: Outputs the help of the mode you are in
About: You can monitor the firmware version and the currently entered CV value
The outline of the model is as follows
MORPH: This mode creates a smooth morphing sound by cross-fading the waveforms on adjacent wavetables. There are three waveform banks, A / B / C, and the banks are switched from the settings. 64 waveforms are stored in a virtual 2D grid of 8 x 8, and the waveform specified by X in the horizontal direction and Y in the vertical direction is output from OUT1. Z sweeps the square table from (1,1) → (2,1) → (8,1) → (1,2) → (2,2) → ... → (8,8), OUT 2 outputs a waveform completely independent of "XY OUT" (the pitch is common).
MORPH + PHS: OUT1 outputs the waveform specified by Z, and OUT2 outputs the same waveform with the phase shifted by X. The Y knob is an attenuator for the output of OUT2, and a new waveform can be created by mixing with an external unity mixer.
MORPH + Wfld: The sound whose waveform specified by Z has passed through the wave folder is output from OUT1 and OUT2. X controls folding of OUT1, Y controls folding of OUT2
Cloud: You can stack up to eight detuned oscillator waveforms like the E340. The waveform is selected from the wavetable by setting. X controls the amount of detuning, Y controls the amount of chaos that makes the pitch unstable, and Z controls the bandwidth of chaos.
Cloud + MorphSimilar to Cloud mode, but you can morph the waveform to be used with Z control
2Op FM: It is a two-operator FM oscillator. Modulator frequency ratio, FM intensity (index), waveform morphing, each controlled by X, Y, Z
Noise: This is a noise oscillator. X and Y control the type of digital noise from each output, and Z controls the resonance of the filter. Freq knob controls filter cutoff, etc.
