Varigate 4+ is a 4-channel, 8-step sequencer that greatly expands the functions of the original Varigate4. Depending on the gate sequence, as well as the CV / Gate switch, all four channels operate in CV, 2CV and 2-gate or 4-gate mode. In addition, a new Play / Stop function, preset bank, step-by-step glide, and scale settings have been added. It also functions as a Varigate8 + slave or Voltage Block master.
You can also set the gate output ON / OFF, number of repeats, glide, and notes to change stochastically. Repeat, note and glide also have a randomize function. Scale, sequence direction (forward, reverse, round trip, random), sequence length, clock division, multiplication, pulse width, etc. can be easily changed for each channel.
The sequence, including each setting in TRACK mode, can be saved as a preset. One bank contains four presets, and there are four banks. Pressing the channel select button while holding down the save button saves the current bank to the preset corresponding to the pressed channel. If you press the channel selection button while holding down the Recall button, the preset corresponding to the pressed channel will be recalled. To switch the active bank, press and hold both the SAVE and RECALL buttons for about 1 second, then switch between banks 1 to 4 by pressing the channel select button while it is blinking.
To use it as a Varigate8 + slave, set the jumper as shown at the bottom of the image (by default, the jumper is set to be the master of the Voltage Block)
