MUSICAL FEATURES

THE SAMARA II IS A FOUR-CHANNEL FLEXIBLE SIGNAL PROCESSOR WITH A NUMBER OF BASIC VOLTAGE PROCESSING FUNCTIONS SUCH AS ATTENUATORS, OFFSETS, MIXES, MIN/MAX. Both CVs and audio can be processed.

Each of the four channels has two normal inputs and inverted inputs, and the inverted inputs are inverted and mixed. The signal through the attenuator is then output from the OUT of each channel, but ch1 and 3 can optionally add an offset of ±5V before the attenuator. This allows you to convert lfos running in a typical ±5V voltage range to 0-10V unipolar signals and vice versa. Offsets are prepared by channel 1 and 3, and when you press the button, you can switch the offset on/off, and then press and hold to switch ±5V.

Below the four outputs of the individual channels, the mix output andFUNC outputthere is a problem. From 1+2, you can get a mixsignal of CH1 and CH2 output. From 3+4/ALL, when it is patched to 1+2 output, the mix of CH3 and CH4 output scan, but when not patched to 1+2, all mix signals of ch1 to CH4 output can be retrieved.

The MIN-MAX/FUNC output is for special process features that you can select. You can switch the process function sing in order by pressing the button in the center.
  • When the LED is not lit, the default process function, MIN-MAX, can output the lowest voltage value for the four channels from the MIN, and the largest voltage value from MAX.
  • MM2: This mode outputs minimum and maximum processing for CH1 and CH2 only
  • CLAMP: In this mode, the voltage values of CH2 and CH4 are output from FUNC A and FUNC B, respectively, in the range of the upper and lower voltages between CH1 and CH3. (ManualSee also fig3)
  • SCAN: Select ch2 to CH4 voltage from FUNC A and FUNC B outputs. The voltage of which channel is issued depends on the ch 1 signal.

    CH1 3V or more: Func A=CH4, Func B=CH2
    CH1 1V~3V: Func A=CH3, Func B=CH4
    CH1 -1V~1V or more: Func A=CH2, Func B=CH3
    CH1 -3V~-1V or more: Func A=CH3, Func B=CH2
    CH1 -3V or less: Func A=CH4, Func B=CH4
  • S&H: Serves as a dual sample and hold. When you enter a signal sampled for CH1 or a signal that triggers a sample to CH2, the sampled signal is output from Func A. Similarly, the signal that samples and holds in CH3 and CH4 is output from Func B.
Switching between these process functions is done by routing switching digitally, but the process itself is all achieved in analog circuits. Therefore, the voltage may drop gradually when the voltage is held for a long time in the sample and hold function.
