Octone is a compact size 8-step CV / Gate sequencer. Choose from 6 different scales
QuantizerBuilt-in, suitable for melody programs. Of course, it also has standard functions such as external clock and reset input / button. In addition, since there is a gate output for each step, it can be used for various purposes.
In Octone
RatchetingIt is also possible to perform a sequence while leaving the gate several clocks in one step for multiple clocks. It is also possible to chain two Octones. Please read below about these features. Also simple
Tutorial videoThere is also.
Ratcheting and Tune Mode
Ratcheting settings such as the number of clocks at each step are programmed by turning the upper right mode toggle switch to the right (Tune mode). At the time of Tune mode, the sequence by the clock stops, and it becomes a simple keyboard where the gate is output by the reset button. Press the button to select a step and turn the length knob to change the number of ratchets (indicated by the number of lit buttons).
Ratcheting can be disabled on a step-by-step basis. In this case, when the step where the ratchet is set for multiple clocks is reached, the gate is output only once at the beginning, and the gate is not output for the remaining clocks. To switch ratcheting off / on, press the corresponding step button twice quickly in Tune mode. When the Scale LED shines shortly, the ratchet is enabled, and when pressed twice, the ratchet is disabled and the Scale LED shines longer.
The sequence reflecting the set ratchet runs by setting the mode toggle switch to the middle position. If you tilt it to the left, you can always play back the normal sequence of one step and one clock that does not reflect the ratchet.
chain
Octone uses the included cable to connect the two
chaincan. In that case, it can be used as a 16-step sequencer. In this case, the second CV can output a CV transposed from the original CV output, so it can be used for harmonizing the CV. If you have a chain, you can save the sequence to 32 presets.
* Note the direction of the red stripe on the cable for the chain.
