MUSICAL FEATURES

Rene (Rene) 2018 is a 3D sequencer that extends the concept of a conventional sequencer that moves only in a straight line in one direction and has three sequence directions. It was named Rene for mathematician Rene Descartes, who established the concept of rectangular coordinates. The original version of Rene was 2D in XY coordinates, but the new 2018 version adds 3D coordinates. The number of channels has changed from the original 1 channel to 3 channels, and 64 sequence data (STATE) can be stored.

 Rene 2018 has the following features:
  • 3 CV outputs to control pitch and tone
  • Three gate outputs to trigger envelopes, voice modules and various other musical events
  • Two sequence modes, Snake mode and Cartesian coordinate mode, can be used simultaneously
  • All programmed content can be stored as one of 64 STATEs
  • Toggle 64 STATEs in 3D coordinates
  • Emphasis on improvisation, all programming is done in real time
  • The status of the pattern can always be monitored with the glowing knob on the left
  • Connect to Tempi via Select Bus and operate STATE
  • It is possible to create various musical variations based on a very small number of inputs
  • The touch plate technology has been renewed, and various Eurorack power supplies are now more stable.
