JACKS and KNOBS

X-CLK

When a gate or clock signal of 2.5V or more is input, the sequence advances one step in the X direction. In Snake mode, it operates as a clock input to advance the sequence by one.

X-MOD

Input a gate signal to further change the sequence of Rene. How the gate signal works is determined in the X-Fun section of the PGM page.

X-CV

The CV entered here is converted to coordinates, and the X coordinate is advanced by the input CV. When not patched, 5V is supplied by internal wiring, so twisting the attenuator changes the X coordinate of the sequence. In Snake mode, the sequence is advanced by the input CV.

Y Axis Section

A jack for clocking and modulating in the Y direction. Its role is the same as that of X. However, in Snake mode, Y-CLK and Y-CV are used for sequence selection.

Sensitivity Adjust

This knob adjusts the sensitivity of the touch plate. Turn clockwise to increase sensitivity.

PGM 1 (PGM Page Select)

Plate to select ProGraM page. The ProGraM page is

PGM 2

QCV Output

Quantize CV output. The voltage corresponding to the knob of the currently active stage is output. The voltage is quantized for pitch (settings are made in Q on the ProGraM page). It has a 4 octave range.

 Also, depending on the Q setting, the stored quantize voltage is output from here, in which case the voltage stored in the memory is output instead of the voltage corresponding to the knob.

CV Output

CV output. The voltage corresponding to the knob of the currently active stage is output. Unlike QCV, the voltage is not quantized for pitch and always reflects the knob value. 0-4.5V

G-X Output

Gate signal output. A gate signal is output when the stage that is ON on the X-Gate page is reached by XCLK. The length of the gate is the length of XCLK. These behaviors are changed by the logic settings on the X-Fun page.

 In Snake mode, this output is a short gate signal of 2ms without reflecting the length of XCLK.

G-Y Output

Gate signal output. The gate signal is output when the stage that is ON on the Y-Gate page is reached by YCLK. The gate length is the length of YCLK. These actions are changed by the logic settings on the Y-Fun page.

CV Programming Grid

Touch Grid

ProGraM PAGE

 The various ProGraM pages and their settings are as follows.

Access

 You can set which of the 16 stages is accessible. In Rene, when you come to an inaccessible stage where the knob is not lit, you will fly to the next accessible stage (SEEK) or sleep for the corresponding time (SLEEP). To select SEEK or SLEEP, use the SEEK / SLEEP setting of X-Fun or F-Fun (common to XY).

X-Gate

X-Fun

 Make various settings for the X-direction sequence. Some settings are the same as the settings in Y-Fun. Y-Fun

 The same setting as X-Fun can be made for Y direction. Some settings are common with X-Fun.

Q

 Quantize settings. The lower 12 of the 16 grids correspond to the 12 scales, and you can set which scale the voltage output from the QCV will output by turning the grid ON / OFF. For the corresponding scale of each touch grid, see the captions (CB) on the left side of the touch grid.

 In addition, the upper four touch grids other than the scale are used to memorize the quantization setting and the scale indicated by each knob, and function as four presets by pressing and holding. About logical operations
 Some of the settings of X-FUN show the setting by logical operation. FWD / BWD / PEND

SNAKE

 If you turn on the rightmost grid on the top row,SNAKE modeIt is a sequence mode called, and 16 stages can be sequenced only with XCLK instead of YCLK. In SNAKE mode, the path to sequence 16 stages by YCLK or Y-CV can be switched by trigger or specified by CV. When not patched to Y-CV, the sequence path can be switched with the Y-CV attenuator. Refer to the manual for the list of sequence paths in SNAKE mode. SNAKE settings are common to X-FUN and Y-FUN.

SEEK / SLEEP

 Set with the lower left grid. Shows the behavior when the sequence comes to a stage that is not accessed on the Access page. When it is OFF, it jumps to the next accessible stage (SEEK), and when it is ON, it sleeps for the corresponding time (SLEEP). This setting is common for X-FUN and Y-FUN.

CLK RST

 Set by the second row from the top, the leftmost grid. When ON, inputting a gate to X-MOD returns the X coordinate of the sequence to 0.

GLIDE

 Set by the leftmost grid in the second row from the bottom. When set to ON, while the X-MOD gate is ON, the pitch changes when the stage moves in the X direction will be glide. GLIDE is not applied separately for X-MOD and Y-MOD, but can be set only for either.

CLK by MOD LOGIC

 This is the setting made on the second grid from the top and three grids on the right. By default, the stage is sequenced in the X direction by applying a clock to XCLK, but depending on this setting, a clock signal using both XCLK and X-MOD gate information is created and the sequence in the X direction is performed. .
