MUSICAL FEATURES

SCION is a quad random voltage generator using biofeedback sensors. Converts electrical movements from plants and other organisms into voltages that can be used musically. By DatagardenMidiSproutBased on the eurorack environment, many features and control parameters have been added to consider the use.

  • 3.5mm jack for sensor cable
  • Comes with two sensor cables
  • The gold plate of the leaf is directly connected to the sensor. Whether to enable this is also set in the jumper on the back when the sensor cable is patched
  • Each of the four channels has a CV output. The range is 0-5V and can be controlled by the attenuator and through control respectively.
  • Each of the four channels has a gate output. Gate width is random in the range of 100 milliseconds to 5 seconds
  • Each channel has a gate input that calls ratchet-like events or is used to clock sample and hold each channel (mode 4 selection)
  • Use the Hold button to stop random movement of each channel
  • It is equipped with a common parameter between two channels, Sensitivity and Density, which can be both manual and CV control. Sensitivity controls the sensitivity of the response to signals from organisms. Density determines the quantization of cv output. The slider issues only the voltage corresponding to the octave at the bottom (0,1,2,3,4,5V), and when the slider is raised, the scale increases in the order of the five degrees area, and all CVs of the 12 scales are output at the top.
  • Hold mode Four long presses to select another mode of the output CV. The reaction to the above Density is in mode 1, and in mode 2, if you increase the Density, the CV that deviates from the chromatic scale will also be output. In mode 3, four outputs are related to harmonics. In mode 4, the gate input is a random voltage sample and hold clock.
