Malekko Heavy Richter Dual Borg Filter

Dual Borg is a dual filter with different types of filters: Borg I on the left and Borg II on the right side, and is influenced by two processor modules: the Buchla 292 Low Pass Gate and the Korg MS20 filter. The BorgI is more suitable for smoother, bongo-like LPG sounds, and borgII is a bit dirty and resonant filter character. By pulling out the jumper on the back of the base, each filter can also make resonance a more loud character.

The Dual Borg filters are based on bactrol on both sides, so it can be used as a Low Pass Gate, and it also works as a 12dB filter with resonance characters affected from MS20. Each channel also has a button to switch between VCA mode and filter mode. The Key input corresponds to the so-called strike input, and the EXT input becomes a CV with an attenuator to the FREQ control. By turning the FREQ knob to the left full and placing the AD envelope in the Key input, it is possible to use it as a low-pass gate, creating a percussive sound with a unique decay.

Dual Borg can switch routing through various types of patches to inputs and outputs, and serial/parallel connection switchates located at the bottom.

• Serial Mode: When the switch is in serial mode, inputs to input 1 and input 2 are mixed, passing through two filters connected to Borg 1→ Borg 2 and serial to output the same signal from output 1 and 2.
• Parallel Mode: When the switch is in parallel mode, if there is an input in either input 1 or 2, patching either output 1 or 2 will take out the mix output of the sound passing through Borg1 and the sound that passes borg2. If both of the output 1/2 are patched, the sound through the input to Borg1 and the sound through the input to Borg2 can be taken out from each. Also, if both input 1 and 2 have inputs, you can hear the sound through input 1 to Borg1 from out 1, and input 2 to Borg2 from out 2.
