MUSICAL FEATURES

* Firmware version has been changed to the 2nd, gate probability, burst probability, 3 parameters of step repeat have been added, random walk has been added to sequence mode, rotation function, preset CV control function, etc. have been added.

Stillson Hammer Mk II is a 4-track CV gate sequencer for real-time music performance. You can easily enter the following nine parameters that determine the sequence of each track using the 16 sliders at each step.
  • CV:  Set the voltage of CV output. Built-in quantizer is also applicable.
  • Slide:  Set the time it takes to change to the CV value set in that step.
  • Gate:  If the slider is 0, no gate is output, and the higher the slider, the longer the gate is output. It will be the (tie) gate that connects to the next step at the highest position.
  • Speed:  Set the burst speed
  • Count:  Set the number of burst triggers.
  • Delay:  Sets the time delay of the gate output.
  • Gate Probability:  Pressing the Gate button while pressing Shift sets the gate probability. If you set the gate probability slider to 0 in the gate ON stage, the gate will always be output. The higher the slider, the lower the probability of the gate being output, and no more at the top.
  • Burst Probability:  Pressing the Count button while pressing Shift sets the burst probability. If the slider of this burst probability is set to 0 in the burst ON stage, the set burst is always output. Raising the slider decreases the probability that a burst will be output, and will not output at the top at all.
  • Step Repeat:  Hold Shift and press the Delay button to set the number of step repeats. Step repeat repeats that stage the specified number of times. 0-7 can be set for each stage
First, select the track you want to edit with the track button, select the parameter you want to edit with the page select button (or combination with Shift), and set the value for each step with the slider is the usual editing method in SH MKII It becomes. You can easily copy and paste tracks and pages using the buttons. The display will sequentially show the values of the currently selected page parameters on the active stage.

The SH MKII also has two CV inputs and a corresponding manual knob, which can be used to modulate 9 parameters per step that can be selected with the Page button or Shift + Page button. You can select and control any number of parameters from any track at the same time (and varying the strength of each step). The CV input may be patched with the SH MKII's own CV output.

Sequence data in 32 presetsSave / LoadIs possible. Also use the Memory CV Input jackPreset CV controlIs possible. With the help of buttons, rotary encoders, LEDs, and displays, you can enter sequences comfortably.

In addition to page parameters, the following operations and settings can be performed for each track.
  • Mute (press the track button while holding down the shift)
  • Change the number of clock divisions (from the transport option button)
  • Sequence direction (from transport option button)
  • Track length (from track options)
  • Quantizer scale and route (from track options):
The scales that can be selected are as follows (the rightmost character is displayed on the display)
     Quantizer off-

     Major |-|
     Minor |-|.

TIPS

  • Hold Shift and the encoder while pressing the Range button to toggle between presets
  • If you move the slider while holding down Shift and the encoder, the parameter of all stages will be that value
  • The preset CV changes its behavior every two semitones, so it is easy to control through a keyboard or quantizer
  • Pressing CV while holding down INIT and RAND will slightly randomize the current CV sequence
  • Press LOAD while pressing RAND to select and load a preset randomly from memory
  • If you press the CV button while pressing Shift, you will enter the link mode in which the CV value is not changed in the gate OFF step. Prevents the pitch from changing during a long decay.
  • Hold down Shift while editing a slider to see the slider value for the step being edited
